Oroville Evacuations Ordered as Eagle Bluff Fire Burns Out of Control

Evacuations were previously in place on both the east and west sides of State Route 97 near the Oroville area.

An uncontained fire which began south of Oroville near the US-Canada border Saturday afternoon.

An estimated 10,000-acre fire that sparked Saturday afternoon southwest of Oroville has burned. The Eagle Bluff fire is estimated to be at 8,000 acres.

The Eagle Bluff Fire erupted Saturday evening just southwest of Oroville in Okanogan County and has forced evacuations around State Route 97. Some people living in Oroville are being told to leave their homes.
