MUNICH (AP) — Lamine Yamal became the youngest player ever to score in a major tournament final as Spain defeated France 2-1 on Tuesday to reach the Euro 2024 championship match.
Yamal's wonder goal in the second half helped secure Spain's place in the final, where they will face either England or Italy. It was the first time Spain has reached the final of a major tournament since losing 4-2 on penalties to Italy at Euro 2020.
Spain's victory was also their first over France in a major tournament since 2016, when they won 2-0 at Euro 2016.
