Chase Oliver Wins Libertarian Nomination for Georgia Senate
Candidate Ran in 2020 Special Election
Oliver forms exploratory committee in December 2022
Chase Oliver, a candidate for the Georgia Senate election in 2022, won the Libertarian nomination late Sunday. In 2020, he ran as a Libertarian in the special election in Georgia's 5th Congressional District.
Oliver has been a vocal critic of the two-party system and has advocated for more transparency and accountability in government. He has also pledged to work to reduce taxes and regulations, and to promote free markets.
Oliver's victory in the Libertarian primary is a sign that there is growing support for third-party candidates in Georgia. In the 2012 U.S. House of Representatives elections, Joel Balam received 32% of the vote in a two-way race in Georgia's 9th Congressional District.
Oliver will face the Republican and Democratic nominees in the general election in November 2022.
