Aston Villa Reach UEFA Europa Conference League Semi-Finals After Dramatic Victory

Villa Booked Their Place in the Last Four with a Thrilling Win Over Lille

Unai Emery's Side Trailed 2-0 Before Staging a Remarkable Comeback

Aston Villa have secured their spot in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, following a dramatic 3-2 aggregate victory over LOSC Lille on Thursday night. The Premier League side, led by manager Unai Emery, faced an uphill battle in the second leg, having lost 2-1 at home in the first leg.

However, Villa showed their resilience by fighting back from a 2-0 deficit in France. Matty Cash scored a crucial goal in the 87th minute, sending the away fans into raptures and securing Villa's passage to the next round.

The victory marks a significant achievement for Emery, who was celebrating his 1000th game as a manager. It also makes Villa the only remaining English club in the third-tier European competition.

In the semi-finals, Villa will face Greek giants Olympiacos, who defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 5-4 on aggregate. The first leg of the semi-final will be played on April 27, with the second leg taking place on May 4.

Aston Villa will be hoping to continue their impressive run in the Europa Conference League and add to their European silverware collection.
